Mac mail gmail 10.9
The app works perfetly, and provides a super clean interface for me now that Inbox as been killed. That being said maybe give us a paid version. I dont like the ad nags, but there are really only a few of them and they are very rare. "Knock on Wood," I have yet to have ANY issues with it and I've been using it daily for about 8 months!! Therefore, I do highly suggest this app, just know it does have certain limitations, as I mentioned limited settings options, you will still have to go to your actual Gmail account online for those, but that is understandable, as this is not your actual Gmail, it's a companion program to help with reasons I listed above for why it is so convenient.

Therefore, if the settings were available here to help troubleshoot problems with passwords or others related, being able to just go to my full set of settings would make this ideal!! Otherwise, it's my app I use daily as I have multiple accounts for very important and separate business or personal uses. I can still access my emails in this program without problems. Especially since when I am having issues with my Gmail account, the 'Mail for Gmail' works fine and the web version can have problems logging in but not here. It would make it the ultimate program if it did have those options. However, I do wish it had all the same "settings" you can access through the website Gmail. I personally find having 'Mail for Gmail' very convenient and useful, especially since I can have it open at all times while I'm on the computer working, and during the times I am on the Internet I don't have to stop, open a new tab, and login threw the website. If that does not help you could try the second approach: deleting the IMAP-Account and recreating it.I find this App very useful! Only wish the settings had more options! It should be syncing the Mails from your IMAP-Account to your Computer in a normal fashion. It should be named something like move the Folder for your IMAP-Account somewhere else, f.e.
What might I be able to do to avoid having to force quit Mail and have it respond more smoothly and not hang up? When I force quit Mail and, things run smoothly, so the problem seems to be limited to the Mail application. I have no firewall app running and have looked into my log file which is available here: Two or three times, I even got a complete freeze, the cursor not moving anymore, the fans (which were running constantly before) shut down the only thing I could do was holding the power button for five seconds. The Mail application doesn't show any window during maybe the first hour after trying to open it, and once I see the main window, everything is so slow that even opening an e-mail can - if it works at all - take a loooot of time. The activity monitor shows that "Mail" and "" both have 90%+ under "% CPU", and most of the time Mail is "Not Responding". When Mail is running, everything slows down extremely (I constantly see beach balls and spend most of the time waiting for any of my inputs showing an effect, not just in Mail but with everything). Since I updated to Mavericks two days ago on my late 2008 13-inch MacBook (first unibody aluminium), I have huge difficulties using Mail.
